Frequently Asked Questions

What is Blueprint Fitness + Boxing?

It’s the new way to workout. It’s a strength and cardio boxing experience that provides a dynamic workout that’s as effective as it is fun.  Our BLUEFUZION sessions alternate between working out with a variety of strength training equipment and punching our 190lb tear-drop style water-filled punching bags. Each day focuses on different muscle groups in order to achieve real results and to help reduce the risk of injuries.

What if I'm a beginner or not already in shape?

Don’t worry! We welcome beginners and meet a lot of them everyday! If it’s your first time, we’ll look after you in any session you choose. We don’t have a “beginner’s session.” Blueprint Fitness was created for you to challenge yourself — you decide how hard you push yourself and choose the heaviness of your weight, depending on your experience. Our Trainers also provide modifications when needed.  If you feel you need a modification please flag down your Trainer and they will take care of you.

To make the most of your first class, we ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early. Find out more about making your first time a great experience here.

Do I have to be a good boxer?

The great thing about boxing as a cardio exercise is that you don’t have to be “good” to start.  In your first few sessions, you’ll learn the basics and learn how to throw our six punches at a pace that feels safe but challenging for you.

How often should I attend a Blueprint?

We recommend 3-4 sessions per week as an optimal number, with 2-3 sessions per week at a minimum if you’re hoping to see visible results. But, as always, listen to your body — if your muscles are very sore, give them time to recover.

How many calories can I actually burn during a sesh?

First, as with most things in life, individual results may vary.  Depending on your body, sex, weight, and effort in the Blue Room, it is possible for clients to burn from 400 to 1,000 calories per session.  But it doesn’t end there.  Vigorous participation can also help raise your resting metabolism rate so you can burn more calories even after you leave the Blue Room. This is what we call the “after burn.”

Why do days of the week focus on different muscle groups?

Most days, the strength training stations exercises are focused on a specific part of the body. There are two reasons for this:

    1. It’s the safest option for people who really want to get fit fast — switching muscle groups creates the biggest impact and reduces the risk of injury.

    2. We don’t want to keep working the same muscle groups day after day.  Recovery is key when it comes to your body.

What options do I have for attending Blueprint Fitness + Boxing?

You have two options — class packs or 30-day auto pay memberships, depending on the type of commitment you’re ready to make we have different options. As you’d expect, the more you commit, the more you save.

What is your refund policy?

As applicable, sessions and membership packages are non-refundable.  No exceptions.

Unused merchandise will be accepted for a full refund within 7 days of purchase. After 7 days, a store credit will be issued for up to 30 days.

For questions or support with purchases or returns, please contact support@blueprint-boxing.com

Can I use my sessions at any location?

Yes.  You are able to use your membership at any of our Blueprint Boxing locations.

How do I freeze or cancel my membership?

If you commit to a membership, you can cancel it with a 30 day notice in the studio after your initial agreement term is up or freeze it by emailing support@blueprint-boxing.com. You can freeze it for up to two months two times per year in which case you will keep your current rate/member benefits. If you wish, you can also freeze a membership for the duration of your pregnancy. We support you and when you are ready to come back postpartum, you can take it at your own pace. You know your body best and we are so impressed with our Mamas-to-be and new mamas!

Should I start with the boxing station or 1 of the weight stations?

Take your pick! The beauty of Blueprint is that you get the exact same workout whether you start with boxing or on a weight station.

What should I bring to a session? What do you provide?

We have gloves for rent at the studio and wraps you can purchase (wraps are required and protect your hands/wrist from injury)  We highly recommend you invest in a pair of Heavy Bag gloves and some hand wraps.  We have them for sale in our studios or you could bring your own.

What should I wear?

You’re going to sweat!  Wear exercise apparel, athletic shoes, and bring a towel to help catch your sweat!

What is your class cancellation policy?

We know how much you love to plan so we open reservations 1 week out. All we ask is that if you are not going to be able to make the session, you cancel at least 8 hours prior. This allows us to make sure someone else gets that primo spot if you can’t make it! Anything canceled less than 8 hours before the session starts is a late cancellation, and you will forfeit the session and incur a no-show fee ($12).  (See “What if I miss class?” for more details.)

What if I miss a session?

If you book a session and don’t show up, you’ll incur a no-show fee ($12). This helps us hold you accountable & makes sure everyone who would like to attend is able to get in. We have sessions that become waitlisted and if we no show that means someone else that wanted to come didn’t get the opportunity to.

How far in advance can I reserve my session?

Rolling booking opens at 12:00pm daily for 7 days out.

What if I’m there close to the session start or late to the session?

We want to be totally transparent with you: a lot goes into the final minutes before the session, which is why we require you to be present before the start time. It’s a lot like boarding a plane— we need that time to finalize the roster and everyone’s starting spots, as well as to accommodate the wait list and any needed moves. If we started this process at the beginning of the session, we would start late and you wouldn’t get your full workout.

If you are less than 5 minutes late and we have not given away your spot to the waitlist, it won’t cost you anything but a few calories. Just check in, come in, and try not to disturb the Bluecrew who have already begun their workout. If you’re going to be more than 5 minutes late you will not be able to join the session.

What is the wait list?

Lots of our sessions sell out. If the session you want is sold out, you can get on our wait list. As clients cancel, you will be automatically added in the order you signed up.

If a spot doesn’t open or you don’t get added automatically, you still have a chance of getting in. Just arrive at least 5 minutes before the session starts and once we have our no-show count we’ll start adding clients from the wait list in order of sign ups. We will start letting waitlist reservations join the session at the start time. Anyone who is late is at risk of losing their spot to someone on the wait list.

Can I move my reservation?

If you are outside the 8-hour cancellation window, you can always switch to another session time that’s not already sold out. If you need to move your booking — but there are less than 8 hours until your scheduled session — that’s considered a cancellation and the above policy would apply.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! We have these available in studio.

Can I leave my kids, pets, or other items in the lobby?

We’d love to have everyone join us at Blueprint, but we unfortunately can’t be liable for anything or anyone left in our lobby area.  We do not offer child or pet sitting at this time.  We love the little ones, but all children must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times.

What if I’m pregnant or just had a baby?

We strongly recommend you talk with your doctor about what is appropriate for you.  Everyone is different.   Plus, the details of each pregnancy can differ.   While continuing a reasonable program of physical activity and exercise during/after pregnancy often can be beneficial, some modification to exercise routines and exertion levels may be appropriate.  Again, we recommend you discuss what is best for you with your doctor, and make sure your doctor knows what a Blueprint workout consists of. (Boxing and weight training).

If you wish, you can freeze a membership for the duration of your pregnancy. We support you and when you are ready to come back to class postpartum, you can take it at your own pace. You know your body best and we are so impressed with our Mamas-to-be and new mamas!

Can I bring my phone into the session with me?

No, It’s distracting to others please leave in your workout bag. We know how vital it can be to keep that phone with you, but please, for that hour you’re with us, keep it in your bag and only use it before or after your session.

How old do I have to be to attend a Blueprint?

13 is the magic number to attend Blueprint, but you have to be accompanied by an adult until you are 18.

Are you thinking about opening a new Blueprint near me?

We are hoping to have Blueprint close to you soon! We have a team who are busy answering that very question at all times — where should we open up next?  If you think people would love Blueprint Fitness where you are, and you would want to get involved in helping us determine if it makes sense, feel free to reach out to us by visiting our contact us page.
